Fabulous Willow

Having Willow home ever afternoon provides such entertainment for me.  I am so going to miss her next year when she is in school full time.

Preview of teenage years?  When she is talking and talking and talking, but never looking at me anymore because she has her friends on her phone to pay attention to as well?
Sam becomes her live dress up doll and has recently been the recipient of her own clothes.  This day Sam was getting ready to go snowboarding.  :)  While Sam never looks very pleased, he is a good sport about it.  :)
This one has to be one of my all time favorites.  Sam was dressed up like Pinkie Pie from Equestria Girls, and became a member of Willow's rock band.
I get to hang out in Willow's room with her and she pretends to give me massages, tells me made up stories about people we know, and then laugh hysterically and leaves me in the room to take a nap.
She also has recently started to have an interest in doing her own hair and on the days I straighten my hair, I sit in a kids chair while she practices putting in pony tails and pretending to braid my hair that usually ends in a whole lot of knots.  The other morning, she snuck off and declared she has mastered pony tails and put them in her hair herself!
Willow's other front tooth has been majorly wiggly, but she has refused to let me pull it out.  It has literally been hanging crooked in her mouth in about a week.  Today she asked for a bowl of frozen blueberries and popped her own tooth out while biting right into one.  I am so glad that thing is out of her mouth!

Willow's Got a New Smile

Another of Willow's teeth has bit the dust.  She's got a lot more wiggly ones, so it won't be long before she has a whole new smile!

Willow's Concert

Willow is a child who loves to be on stage, so when it came time for her concert, she had no worries about being up there.   It was also fun for me to hear, in completion, all the songs she had been singing for months.   She was all business up there!  She takes performing seriously.  :)

When the concert was over, she said that the only thing she would have wanted different was she wished she knew where we were sitting out in the audience, and in the next breath said, "So...when's my next performance?"  Um.....next year, kid????

Sam Gets Dressed Up

Willow loves dressing Sam up in capes and shirts and necklaces, but when Willow gets together with Briley, Sam gets a whole new make over.  He usually sneaks out of the room and comes slinking down the hall looking for me to help him out of all of his necklaces.  :)

Weekend at the Boggess'

I LOVE going and visiting our friends the Boggess' up in Kansas City.
We watched their sons basketball game.
Jayden and Kyle shot Jayden's bow.
And then Beau busted out all the fun toys.
And then Jayden got real brave and decided he did indeed want to learn how to ride a motorcycle!
He.
Loved.
It!
A dirt bike has now sky rocketed to the top of Jayden's birthday list!

And then disaster struck.  The girls managed to ride the RZR right up the fence and flip it.  Thankfully, neither of them were hurt, other than a little seat belt burn on their necks and they were just a little scared.  When we came running over, Briley still had her hands gripping the steering wheel and Willow had a death grip on her handle bars, although she kept trying to unbuckle herself which would of just landed her on top of Briley.  :)
"You guys don't need help, right?  I'll just keep taking pictures." :)
The weekend ended with a bon fire.  I love bon fires in the middle of winter.  :)

What Willow Wears :: vol 21

Willow is still rocking some awesome outfits.  She came out with a pet hedge hog and declared "Today is a great day to be Fab.U.Lous!"

Willow on Junior Swim Squad

Willow has been swimming alone in her lessons since the beginning of the school year.  With her being in half day kindergarten, I've had her signed up for a lesson time that is after she gets out of school, but before Jayden gets out of school, and with her skill level in swimming there just aren't any more kids in her class.  She recently has been saying she doesn't want to go to swimming anymore, but as soon as we get her in the pool, she loves it.  So before we take her out of swimming all together, I talked with the swim director and she suggested moving Willow up to Junior Squad where she would be swimming with more kids, at a little bit more advanced level, but maybe she'd enjoy it more.

I was a little hesitant when we showed up.  The other kids on the squad were so much bigger than Willow, and Willow hadn't up to that point swam a 100m free style with flip turns yet (which was the requirement to get on the junior swim squad).  But she surprised the socks off me.  She easily got in the pool and swam the 100m freestyle warm up and proceed to keep up with the kids for the rest of the practice, which was easily another 300m of swimming.

It's Snowing!

Snow is always exciting, even if it's only a tiny bit!
