Beans

After the tuna was canned and split up, we hunted down some beans to can, because we were just too bored.  :)  Actually, we're trying to get all this food work out of the way, so then we can move on to more funner things!
Beans don't take too long to can.  The snapping takes the longest, but processing the beans only takes about 25 minutes per batch, while tuna takes 2hrs and 20mins each batch. 
60 pounds of beans (4 boxes) took us about 6 hours or so to snap, but it is so worth the work to have these to eat all winter long.

 We had lots of help.  My really great friend Pammy was there for the beginning.

Both the kids got in on the snapping.  It was much easier to have them help with this, than it was with the fish.

And Brynn and Gabe came over and sat down and snapped, and Lisa stopped by later when she got off work hoping we'd be done snapping by then, but we had a whole box to go, so she didn't get off so easy.  But now we have 30 quarts of beans to take back with us!  Our trailer is going to be significantly heavier on the trip back...
