Seahawks vs. Chiefs!

The Seahawks came to Kansas City and we were able to get tickets to the game!  We spent the weekend with our friends up in Kansas City and went to the game together!

I colored the only part of my hair that might be showing at the game, blue.  :)
It was so cold, I had handwarmers in every pocket of my jeans, inside my gloves, and any other place I could get them to stay!  For Willow, the girl child who prefers to wear as few clothes as possible (sock and shoes and coats come off immediately when she gets in a car or home), being all bundled up and me shoving handwarmers in every available place was a bit of torture.  :)
The girls made it through the first freezing quarter and were rewarded with cotton candy!
And then it was right back to being bundled up.
Yes, I have two hats on!

The outcome was sad for us Seattle fans, but it was really fun to get to be at the game!

Halloween 2014!

Halloween fell on a Friday this year and we got to visit both kids Halloween parties at school!

First up, Willow's class!
Willow went with being Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony this year.
Willow, the luckiest game player of all time, won all 3 games of Bingo!
In the afternoon, we got to go hang out with Jayden and his class and play games with them!
At home, Willow decided that she didn't want to wear Pinkie's wig with her costume, she wanted her hair colored pink instead.
Royal dressed up as a mad scientist, I went as another My Little Pony, Rainbow Dash.
Thanks to it being so freaking hot all week, our pumpkins started melting and my pumpkin, which started out with teeth began to look like an old man who forgot to put his dentures in.
And as hot as it was the weekend before, it was freezing Halloween night for trick or treating.  Kansas, your weather kills me!!!!!

Pumpkin Patch 2014

Holy smokes, this year it was a hot one!!!  Royal's parents flew into visit us and to spend a Halloween Trick or Treating with the kids.  We never know what the weather is going to be like.  This year the trip to the pumpkin patch was quite miserable because of how hot it was.  Norma went from little shady patch to little shady patch.  The heat didn't stop the kids though!
Jayden is officially taller than the kid's maze, it's pretty easy for him to see the path through now.  :)
Sometimes you gotta kick a pumpkin to determine is it's the one for you. :)
No hotdogs and hot chocolate this year!  We had cups of ice and snow cones and shave ice!

Apple Picking

We were so late picking apples this year, that we almost missed it.  It has been so hot for so long, my internal clock for processing food has been slow!  The apples were tiny and lots of them had worm, so it took quite a lot more effort to fill our boxes.  But we managed to walk away with 125lbs!

We always taste test an apple off a tree before we pick them!
We also got the truck stuck in some mud and it took us almost a half an hour to get it out, so that made our picking time even shorter!
Our mud pit.  We even lost an apple in it.  :)
 Muddy windows.
And then we went through the car wash.  :)

Apple crisp and applesauce, here we come!!!

Willow's Class Pumpkin Hunt

Willow's class didn't actually get to take a trip to the pumpkin patch this year.  They had pumpkins delivered to the school and the kids got to pick a pumpkin off the playground.  It was pretty lame, not nearly as exciting as chasing 6 year olds around a huge pumpkin patch!  But Willow, the ever "everything is so great!!!" child, thought it was fun.
After the pumpkin hunt and then inside to color the pumpkins, it was back outside for a few games.
