Chapter 1 : The Drive
The kids did AWESOME today!  We didn't have a plan as to how far we wanted to drive, we just knew we had to go at least 350 miles to get to Kaylee's in 3 days or a lot farther to get there in 2 days, we were just going to go as far as our kids and bodies would let us.  :)  So, I plugged Kaylee's address into the GPS to set our course.

and eventually we crossed from Utah into Idaho!

We ended up getting half way, about 550 miles, which put is in Boise and we stopped just west of Boise in Meridian to try and avoid any morning commuter traffic the next day.

Chapter 2 : Sam, best dog around...kind of
Sam really is the best traveling dog.  He lays on the floor of the backseat either curled up in a ball behind the drivers seat (at the feet of Willow where he has more room), or stretched out over the hump on the floor.

 He never begs or whines or really makes any noise.  As soon as we start moving he lays right down until we stop and he sits up and looks around and tries to beat the kids out of the truck because he knows he will get to take a quick walk.  He quickly gets back in the truck and does it all over again.  He does awesome in the trailer besides his super loud snoring at night.  :)

Dad was out walking him this morning before we got in the truck to leave and he was bragging up Sam to another camper, telling her what a great dog he was, how he was so well behaved.  And then Sam peed on dad's leg.  hahaha  I have no idea what got into him, he's only ever done it one other time, a few years ago right after we got him and Sam peed on Jayden while Jayden was peeing in our yard.  hahaha.  I guess Sam has marked Jayden and Dad as his.

Chapter 3 : The Campsite
We stayed in a KOA right off of I-84 in Meridian, ID.  It is a really big campground and it was almost completely full.  They had us packed in their like sardines.

We didn't even unhook the trailer so we'd have a quick exit in the morning.  We got to the campground around 7:30 and I took the kids right to the pool to move around and cool off....and practice their butterfly.

The swam for over an hour and a half and then we had a little food and put them right to bed to get them up again in the morning to do the exact same thing.

Chapter 4 : The Last Part of the Drive
We had the kids up by 6:30 and everybody in the car by 7:15.  They didn't do quite as well on day #2.  A lot more "Are we there's" and "Can we get out of the car yet????"  But all we had to do was drive this last part of the trip and we would be to Kaylee's house!  And hopefully in time to watch Brendan's baseball game!

We crossed into Oregon and could see Washington just right across the river!

And more and more trees started popping up as we headed west.

And we could finally see Mt Hood in the distance.

And holy beautiful the trees!

And we finally crossed into Washington and over Royal's Cowlitz River.

And eventually to Kaylee's new house in Shelton.  It felt so good to get out of the truck, even if we did have to get right back in it a couple hours later to drive to Brendan's baseball game.  :)
