Strawberry Pickin'

While Royal's parents were here, we took advantage of the extra pair of hands and went out to the strawberry field at Sargeant's Berry Farm in Haysville.  We picked 45 pounds of strawberries to mostly freeze to use through out the year.  The first step of storing up food for the winter is officially done!

Since it was suppose to be in the 90s on this day, we went picking in the morning and it really was quite nice.  There was a cool little breeze blowing that kept the heat from running us out of the field.
But just in case it got too hot, Jayden kept his misting fan around his neck at all time to keep him cool!
The kids did really well, they never complained, they ate as many strawberries as they could fit in their mouths, and they managed to also work on filling their own boxes.  I think it also helped that we met some friends of ours out there, so they had a buddy to "work" with.  :)
